188FOUNDATION has become the eighth partner sponsor of the 2011 Commonwealth Youth Games, which will be staged on the Isle of Man between 7th and 13th September 2011.

The Games, the biggest mass participation sporting event in the island’s history, will host around 1,000 competitors, more than 250 officials, plus VIPs and supporters from all the nations of the Commonwealth. Seven sporting events will be contested in venues in and around the capital, Douglas.

Based in the Isle of Man, 188FOUNDATION was set up last year to support community growth and development projects around the five Premier League football clubs which are sponsored by the foundation’s parent company, 188BET.

188BET CEO, Andy Scott, said:
“We are delighted to be able to support this landmark event which gives talented young athletes the chance to compete at the highest level. The 188FOUNDATION was created to support events such as these.

“The sponsorship marks our ongoing commitment to supporting the local community in the Isle of Man. Residents will have a great opportunity to see some of the stars of tomorrow at this fantastic event.”

Geoff Karran, CYG2011 Chairman and Games Director said:
“We are delighted to welcome 188FOUNDATION on board and look forward to working with them towards what promises to be the greatest single sporting event the island has ever hosted.

“The significance of the Commonwealth Youth Games coming to our Island cannot be under-estimated with potential world champion athletes performing on our very doorstep.”
