Excellence Awards for CYG2011 Volunteers

At the Isle of Man Newspapers Annual Awards for Excellence on the 17th November the Commonwealth Youth Games 2011 featured highly.
The whole event commenced with the showing of a 2 minute DVD giving Highlights of the Games to the accompaniment of the Games Anthem composed by Davy Knowles. Then the CYG won two of the major awards given out on the Night.
Victoria Karran the Volunteers Coordinator won the Volunteer of the Year award donated by one of the Games Sponsors Boston. The army of Volunteers for the Games then won the Teamwork award which was collected by Victoria’s Deputy Jenny Walker accompanied of course by Tosha
Victoria has also won a National award presented by her employers Lloyds Bank for Contribution to the Community in her role as Volunteer Coordinator. Victoria will receive her award at a special luncheon to be held at the Savoy Hotel London and part of the prize is that she will now be a representative of Lloyds Bank in the London Olympic relay.
